History was made with the Valorant Champions 2021! Over 12 days of pure excitement, you have seen teams from all regions show their maximum potential, yet in the end there is only one team that can take the win – and that is Acend!
Riot Games has set high standards for the next upcoming tournament with this World Championship – because it couldn’t have gotten any better. In the final there was a breathtaking match between Gambit and Acend where Acend won the World Championship with only one round difference. The game could not have been tighter and thus ended with a score of 3:2 for Acend.
The first game started with great anticipation on Breeze and you could perceive the effort in both teams. It was an active back and forth game where at first you got the feeling that Gambit was gaining full control of the game. They noticed similarities to the Masters Berlin where they won 13:0 against G2 Esports.
On the map split and with it also the last match of the whole tournament Acend could then prove himself and thus the world champion title usurp! The whole thing was a pure emotional roller coaster, and that was also made clear by the Twitch chat, which had people cheering along at every opportunity. Acend showed that it doesn’t matter which side you start on and thus won the match 2:0.
As of now, we’ll have to wait and see how Valorant Champions 2022 can top that, and until then, we’ll have to settle for Riot Games ‘ smaller tournaments!
